Vox Machina

This was an incredible one-day shoot to be involved in. I was asked to take creative unit stills and behind the scenes photographs of the Vox Machina live stream on Twitch for one evening in the depths of London. Vox Machina is an Amazon Prime animated show in the realm of DnD [or Dungeons and Dragons] and the Twitch live stream had three online gamers who where in their respective homes with two hosts in the London studio.

The concept was to talk about different aspects of DnD, the Vox Machina animated Amazon Prime TV show and also have the two studio hosts play a real-live, half hour game of DnD with the help of the online gamers.

The show existed over two studio floors, both underground with the 'top' floor being the studio and the basement were the live game would take place. The 'studio' was a mock up of an old tavern to fit the era in which the show and game is set and the basement consisted of all manor of props, lighting, smoke machines and live action characters. It looked absolutely insane and on top of that, as I have mentioned a few times, everything was live on Twitch.

This was my first TV show and to witness just how much work goes into setting up everything, for what is a two hour stream, is remarkable. Everyone from the crew to the cast were friendly, upbeat [despite the weather outdoors], approachable and easy to work with.

If you've never seen the show, I would recommend watching it, even if you're not a DnD fan, it's a lot of fun to watch!

Thanks to Zest4TV who brought me on to the production!
